Running a workspace
For admins: how a workspace is scoped, how members and certifications are managed, and what the console will tell you about both.
A workspace is a private Hue Eval for one organization, on its own address — yourorg.hueeval.app. Its members, its certification tests, its certificates and its
activity are all its own. Everything in this page is managed from the organization console, which only admins can reach.
Your workspace
The address is the boundary, and it is enforced rather than decorative. Only members can sign in on a workspace address; a signed-in non-member gets an explicit no-access screen, and an unrecognised subdomain gets a dead end rather than a quiet fallback to the public site. Pages are cached per workspace so nothing crosses between them.
Two settings decide the character of the workspace:
Off is recommended: only people you invite can sign in. On, anyone who reaches the address can create an account on it. Leave it off unless you have a reason.
On, your members also see the public Hue Eval exam tracks. Off, the workspace shows only content that belongs to your organization.
The workspace's name and logo come from the organization profile; the console lets you set an accent colour for the places the profile does not cover.
Members and roles
There are two roles, and the difference is simply the console:
- Learner — sits tests, earns certificates, sees their own results.
- Admin — everything a learner can do, plus the console: people, certifications, passcodes, reminders, certificates and activity.
The People page is where membership is managed:
- Invite by email. The invitation waits in the person's Hue Eval inbox until they accept it.
- See pending invitations separately from active members, so you know who has not responded.
- Promote or demote in bulk — tick the rows and make them admins or learners in one action.
- Filter by join date and search by name or email, then export what you are looking at as CSV. With rows ticked the export takes the ticked ones; with none ticked it takes the filtered view.
Each member also has their own page: practice accuracy, practice sessions, certificates earned, and the share links and downloads for each certificate.
Certification tests
Certifications are authored and published outside the console, then managed inside it. A published certification carries its own pass mark, attempt limit and duration, and issues a certificate the moment a member clears it — there is no approval step.
A certification can also be run offline: hold the test in a room, then publish it as an attestation so the cohort can sign in, enter their passcode, confirm their name and download the certificate. The resulting certificate is the same verifiable page as any other.
Passcodes
By default every published certification is open to all members. Giving one a passcode changes that: it disappears from your members' test list entirely, and only reappears for someone who enters the code.
Each code opens exactly one. There is no master code.
Letters, numbers and dashes. Case does not matter when a learner types it, and no two certifications can share a code.
Clear the passcode and the certification goes back to being open to all members. Nothing already issued is affected.
The code is shown large enough to read off a screen share, which is usually how it reaches a cohort.
A passcode keeps a certification out of the wrong list. It is not a proctor and it does not stop a member who has the code from sharing it. If a workspace has open sign-up on, treat every passcode as semi-public.
Exam reminders
The Reminders page sends a member a nudge about a specific certification. Pick the person, pick the test, and the composer shows a live preview of exactly what will land for them before you send it.
Email delivery is not switched on for Hue Eval yet, so reminders reach members as in-app notifications in their inbox. Everything on the page works, and emails start going out as soon as it is enabled — you do not have to change anything.
Reading the results
The console's reporting is in four places:
Tests completed and certificates issued by week, the distribution of scores in bands, your top performers, and the most recent certificates.
Every completed certification attempt across the workspace, filterable by date and sortable, with CSV export.
Everything issued, searchable by learner, test or certificate ID. Copy the public share links for a whole selection at once — private certificates are skipped rather than exported as dead URLs.
One person's practice accuracy, sessions and certificates, with their links and downloads.
Everything that lists rows exports as CSV on the same rule: ticked rows if you ticked any, otherwise whatever the filters are currently showing.
